You Don't Need to Fit In. You Need to Find Your Place.

Let me tell you about the morning my son went to church dressed as Batman.

Carl was three. My wife was in tears because he refused every outfit she picked. I could have muscled him into it. Plenty of parents would. But I knew something about Carl: God wired him to lead. A child like that needs options, not orders. So I laid out a few outfits and let him choose. My mistake was tossing the Batman costume in as the third option.

You can guess which one he picked.

There I was, the pastor, explaining to my congregation that my son was "exercising his power of choice." Some of those folks already weren't sure about me. That settled it.

But here's the point. Carl wasn't being rebellious. He was being exactly who God designed him to be. And once you understand design, everything changes: how you parent, how you lead, how you build, and where you fit in the Body of Christ.

Anointed, But Not Aligned

Here's what I see everywhere I go. The church isn't short on gifts. We're short on alignment.

We pray a little, prophesy a little, cast out devils a little, and end up a little bit effective. We run from meeting to meeting, hearing five messages a week, four of them anointed but not one of them the appointed word for this season. You are an independent person living in an interdependent reality, and until you see that, you miss what other people were sent to contribute to your destiny.

That's empowered but unaligned. Your gift makes room for you, yes. But if you don't know your direction, you won't know which door to walk through when it opens.

Napoleon understood something the church needs to learn: the object of war is victory, and the object of victory is occupation. A breakthrough nobody occupies gets sealed right back up. One person can punch a hole in the heavens. It takes a people moving together, each in their place, to hold the ground.

Who You Are Determines What You Do

Ephesians 2:10 says you are His workmanship. The Greek word is poiema. You are God's poetry. Destiny is by design, which means the fastest way to discover what you're called to do is to discover who you actually are.

I used to think I could build anything if I just believed hard enough. Nobody told me it all depends on your divine design. That revelation set me free from comparison, and it will do the same for you.

In Strategic Alignment, you'll discover:

  • Your unique gift mix, and why new wine is always found in the cluster, never in a single grape
  • Why every strength you have, when overextended, becomes your weakness (Samson didn't lose his eyes because he lost his biceps)
  • How the 4 faces of Christ in the Gospels, the lion, the ox, the eagle, and the man, show up in your temperament and what each looks like under pressure
  • Why you need all five of the fivefold ministry gifts, even if you carry one of them
  • The four stages every prophetic promise goes through: forming, storming, norming, and performing
  • How Daniel's excellent spirit was really a developed gift cluster that set him above every other voice in Babylon

The Storm Is Part of the Process

Most people never get from prophetic promise to prophetic possession. Why? Because the moment God gives you the dream, your circumstances start protesting against it. That's the storming stage, and most believers spend all their energy trying to escape the very situation God led them into.

When you understand your design, you understand your storm. The lion has to learn to yield control. The persuader has to let God sanctify their charm. The peacemaker has to stop compromising just to avoid conflict. Abraham compromised for peace and got an Ishmael. And the careful perfectionist has to learn their worth was never based on performance.

This is where the Word divides soul from spirit, and where you enter a rest you've never known.

What You Get

Strategic Alignment is a two part teaching pulled straight from the vault: approximately 1 hour and 51 minutes of audio on CD and USB, plus Lance's Notes to help you go deeper and actually apply what you hear.

Think about what that's worth. A couple of hours can help you understand your spouse, your kids, your team, and yourself. It can save you years of chasing doors God never opened for you and competing with people God called to run alongside you.

The Cost of Staying Scattered

Thirty fold, sixty fold, hundredfold. You can't get to a hundred by skipping thirty and sixty. There's no microwave version of destiny.

But you can stop spinning in circles. You can stop trying to be what you're not. And you can find the place where your gift fits, where your calling connects with others, and where heaven's blueprint starts coming together in your life.

You don't need to fit in. You need to find your place.
